Summary of Responsibilities:
  • The Support Specialist 1 will mainly provide application-level technical support for systems maintained by the Enterprise Architecture group including validated system environments, with their primary focus being on our Learning Management System (LMS).  Most support will be in the form of 2nd level Helpdesk support for system access.  The candidate will be responsible for administering and maintaining applications, assisting users, and managing escalated service desk tickets. This position will work with and support Business system owners to facilitate application improvements and repairs.
  • The candidate may also be assigned new project work in support of LMS improvements and configurations. The position is best suited for a person who is self-motivated, has worked in a strict change management environment, enjoys working in a team atmosphere, thrives on new challenges and has the ability to make technology solutions work for business challenges presented to IT by its clients.
  • Close tickets as 2nd level support providing access to business applications
  • Participate/Lead projects that include cleanup and reconfiguration of the LMS
  • Business analysis for ongoing LMS projects
  • Demonstrate an ability to maintain systems within a rigorous change control environment
  • Build training items, curricula, user groups, user accounts, and assignments in the LMS.
  • Work with business units to identify and resolve issues impacting business processes
  • Must have a strong understanding of IT Support as a business function (SLA’ s, ITIL practices, etc.)
  • Draft documentation around the preparation, deployment, procedures, and design of IT system environments
  • Maintain solutions in conjunction with business unit owners and cross-functional project teams
  • Work with partners to troubleshoot access issues or other problems
  • Candidate must be a strong team player recognizing personal improvement and awards are best achieved by making those around you successful
  • Work schedule will include ‘ out of normal’ work hours for IT support & monthly maintenance
  • Support of IM owned LMS
  • Other related duties as assigned

Summary of Qualifications:
  • BS in MIS, Computer Sciences, or equivalent education and work experience
  • Experience supporting a Learning Management System
  • Exposure to validated environments, change management, and ability to comply to such regulatory agency requirements
  • Experience with Enterprise-Level Platforms is a plus (e.g. Trackwise, Oracle, Infor CMMS, etc)
  • Experience supporting applications and systems used in a Laboratory setting is a plus
  • Experience supporting ComplianceWire is a major plus
  • Basic understanding of IT systems development life-cycle (SDLC)
