Bayside Solutions is seeking a Shop Associate  to be part of our Client’ s team in the Hayward area. Shop Associate
 

Swing Shift (2: 30 PM to 1: 00 AM, Monday through Thursday)

 

Daily Responsibilities:

 
  • Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in heavy machinery, equipment and material
  • Perform materials handling and storage
  • Load and unload trucks, and haul and hoist materials
  • Maintain a clean job site by picking up all tools and equipment and securing job site each day to eliminate potential hazards
  • Assist in other job roles and functions to alleviate workloads in other departments
  • Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed

 
Work Environment:
  • Exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration
  • Occasional exposure to a variety of extreme temperature conditions due to weather (hot & cold)
  • Exposure to load noise level in the shop

Skills:
  • Education High School Diploma or equivalent and vocational school
  • Minimum of two (2) years related experience as a welder in a fabrication, manufacturing or structural environment is a plus
  • Experience and knowledge of welding techniques for Mig welding
  • Knowledge of a wide range of welding principles, processes, and difficult techniques requiring complete penetration and fusion of base and filler metals
  • Ability to maintain dimensions and tolerances to specifications
  • Ability to read shop drawings
  • Welding certification(s) is highly desirable, but not required

 
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to lift, push, pull and/or carry heavy objects
  • Regularly walk and stand for long periods of time
  • Strong manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination
