Shipping Associate (Day Shift)

 Daily Responsibilities:
  • Verify all shipments meet requirements
  • Check-in outbound inventory and administer the processing
  • Verify paperwork and log items according to required procedures
  • Maintain shipments tracking
  • Schedule shipments
  • Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in heavy machinery, equipment and material
  • Perform material handling and storage
  • Load and unload trucks, haul and hoist materials
  • Assist management in recycling material in the warehouse
  • Maintain a clean job site by picking up all tools and equipment and securing job site each day to eliminate potential hazards
  • Safely utilize forklifts cum power jacks to move warehouse materials according to proper safety instructions and as directed
  • Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed

Work Environment:
  • Exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration
  • Occasional exposure to a variety of extreme temperature conditions due to weather (hot & cold)
  • Exposure to load noise level in the shop

  • Ability to interpret BOL' s (Bill of Lading)
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Office Suite to include Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Safety awareness
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Understanding of diversity

  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Fluency in English
  • Bilingual - Spanish (this is a plus!)
  • Work experience involving construction with steel & structures (this is a plus!) 

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to lift, push, pull and/or carry heavy objects
  • Regularly walk and stand for long periods of time
  • Strong manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination
  • Ability to work both inside and outside with exposure to heat, cold and loud noises
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE)
