Senior Scientist, Analytical Development

Summary of Responsibilities:
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with cutting edge high-resolution mass spectrometer for characterization of biologics, as well as LC/MS/MS method development for quantitation of proteins and peptides from complex matrices.
  • Knowledge of various sample cleanup techniques to enrich biologics.
  • Hands on experience with various CE techniques.
  • Hands on HPLC techniques such as RP, IEX, SEC, and Affinity Chromatography.
  • Lead efforts to develop new assays and improve existing methods.
  • Supervise the technical transfer of assays to and from contract test laboratories.
  • Ownership of the writing of development reports and test methods.
  • Train and supervise more junior team members.

Required Qualifications:
  • Experience in various modern analytical assay disciplines, applicable to protein therapeutics.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a team-oriented environment are required. 
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team, handle multiple projects, demonstrate initiative and accountability, and strong attention to detail. 
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Proficient in the development and optimization of assays, as well as method qualification, method transfer to QC and troubleshooting.
  • Proficient with Sciex or Agilent Mass Spectrometers.
  • Proficient with various HPLC software such as Empower, ChemStation  
  • Previous cGMP experiences, a plus.
  • Education
    • PhD. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry or related discipline with at least 7 years of industry experience working with proteins and peptides

Additional Skills:
  • Proficient with JMP, PLA, and Prism is a plus
  • Proficient with Mascot, ProteinPilot, or similar
  • Proficient in TMT or other labeling technigues
  • CE-MS experience is a plus
