Summary of Responsibilities:
  • The Department of Translational Oncology in Research is seeking a highly motivated contract employee to join a group of researchers evaluating novel targeted and immunotherapies in animal tumor models.
  • The successful candidate will perform duties consistent with a Scientific Researcher or Senior Scientific Researcher, requiring proficiency with numerous in vitro laboratory skills and familiarity with mouse in vivo and ex vivo sample analysis.
  • The employee will evaluate the effects of experimental therapeutics alone and in combination to inform diagnostic hypotheses and clinical decision-making for clinical-stage molecules.

Summary of Qualifications:
  • BS in a relevant field with significant experience (5 years)
  • MS in a relevant field with significant experience (3 years)
  • Ph.D. in a relevant field
  • Applicants should have a BS or higher degree in cell biology, oncology or related science.
  • The position requires a minimum of  3 years of hands-on relevant experience with technical expertise in multiple techniques and a track record of success as evidenced by publication record and/or evidence of sustained contributions in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical setting.
  • Candidates must have demonstrated expertise in the design  and execution  of pharmacodynamics (PD) studies using mouse-derived tumors and tissues ex vivo.
  • The ideal candidate is  highly proficient in multiple analysis modalities, including cell-based viability assays, quantitative western blotting, RT-PCR, Fluidigm, immunofluorescence, and flow cytometry. 
  • Proficiency with mouse necropsies and handling of tissue or blood or blood products for analysis is an integral component of this job.
  • Excellent data analysis, report generation and communication and team-based skills are essential components of this role.
