Research Assistant/Associate – Analytical Chemistry

JOB SUMMARY:

Our Client is seeking a Research Assistant/Associate in Analytical Services to aid in data collection and assay development in support of product development. We are looking for a dedicated individual, capable of following verbal instructions and written protocols, with attention to detail.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Operating and maintaining HPLC systems (experience with Waters HPLC systems and Empower 3 software preferred).
  2.   Independently performing HPLC analyses.
  3. Calculation of assay results, and recording experimental details.
  4. Following verbal instructions and written protocols
  5. Communicating any issues or problems to Supervisor.
  6. Calculating concentrations and preparing solutions.
  7. Assisting in analytical method development and method validations.
  8. Managing hazardous waste.
  9. Performing simple equipment/systems maintenance.
  10. Cleaning glassware and equipment.
  11. Maintaining supplies and materials inventory.
  12. Assisting in maintaining chemical data base.

Qualifications

 
  1. BS/BA/MS degree in chemical or biological sciences.
  2. 3-5 years’ experience running HPLC systems.
  3. Strong background in Analytical Chemistry or Biochemistry is preferred.
  4. Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  5. Must be proficient with a computer and Microsoft Office suite software.
  6. Must be organized and detail oriented.
  7. Must be able to work well with others with different disciplines.
