Project Manager /Senior Project Manager /Coordinator, Assay Development

 

Position Summary

(Senior)   Project Manager/Coordinator to join our team in our Redwood City office. This position reports into the Senior Director, Assay Development and Bioanalysis.  This person will be working with the Assay Development (AD) team.  This role is responsible for supporting the Assay Development team through development and performance of Assay Development (AD) systems, policies, processes, and procedures to ensure that team activities are scheduled and coordinated within the team, with other functions, and with external contractors.

What You’ ll Do
  • Attend project team meetings and provides input on timeline feasibility, adjusts departmental, Analyst, and Assay timelines to meet changing needs, foster communication with various stakeholders such as the Preclinical, Clinical, QC, and PD groups
  • Attend teleconferences with CROs, keep in-house minutes, check on progress of action items from both parties; may participate in technical audits of CROs
  • Create and maintain database system for tracking CRO and internal reports
  • Track lists of assay development work requests, stages, and responsibilities
  • Work with group scientists to write and finalize SOWs, SOW revisions, MSAs, CDAs, and timelines for CROs
  • Work with scientific staff to arrange on-site demonstrations of prospective new equipment
  • Coordinate development of and training on departmental SOPs, Standard Test Methods, work plans, and data reporting forms
  • Track billing for services by outside vendors (CROs) and help Accounting reconcile invoices with work performed
  • Be responsible for monitoring continuous improvement of departmental processes and procedures.
  • May assist in review and updating of Laboratory Notebooks.
  • Supervises Lab Coordination and Sample Management
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed

About You
  •   Minimum of a Bachelor’ s degree in a biological science}
  • At least five years of biotechnology industry experience, preferably in an analytical testing laboratory.
  • For Senior Project manager, at least 5 years of project management experience in the biotechnology industry
  • Project Management training/certification is desired
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience with sample management
  • Experience with database organization
  • Experience with fast paced workflow involving independent teams
  • Experience with oversight of CRO relations a plus
  • Experience with Bioanalytical Assays is a plus
