Medical Science Liaison/Senior Medical Science Liaison, Medical Affairs ()

We are currently seeking to hire experienced Medical Science Liaisons for a new team who will report to the Senior Director, Medical Affairs. Medical Science Liaisons are critical members of our team who will be the key Medical contacts at the Hemophilia Treatment Centers. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, establishing, developing, and maintaining relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) within the Hemophilia space.  This is our first MSL team. There will be many opportunities, if desired,   to work on special projects and be involved beyond the scope of the standard MSL position.


  • Develop scientific and medical expertise in hemophilia
  • Become an expert on our Clinical Trials
  • Introduce our company to the Hemophilia community
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with KOLs and others in the Hemophilia community
  • Be the key Medical link between health care professionals and bring questions and concerns to the company and to respond to Medical enquiries
  • Collaborate with Clinical Development to identify potential clinical trial sites, support feasibility assessments and site initiations, and raise awareness to enhance patient enrollment
  • Provide clinical presentations and information in response to unsolicited requests (as appropriate) in Hemophilia Treatment Centers (HTCs) and academic and community settings
  • Assist in developing materials for use in medical and scientific communications
  • Attend local, national and international meetings and congresses to stay current on relative science and clinical studies, develop productive collaborations, provide scientific support and staff Medical Affairs booths
  • Act as primary liaison to investigators who proactively express interest in developing and performing investigator-initiated studies
  • Provide clinical support at Advisory Board meetings
  • Lead and/or participate in committee/project teams which support MSL strategies as assigned by MSL leadership
  • Ensure all external interactions are conducted in accordance with company objectives, compliance policies and procedures as well as within legal and ethical standards



  • Demonstrated experience effectively presenting clinical/scientific information required
  • Ability to learn other disease states if necessary
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills required
  • Demonstrated ability to build productive collaborations with medical experts
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and associated hardware required
  • Must be a strong team player and effectively interface with internal departments including Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Translational Research, Technical Operations, Medical Affairs, the office of the Chief Medical Officer
  • Must be willing to travel within a defined territory, to company meetings, and to medical congresses
  • Valid driver’ s license required and must be in good standing
  • Exhibits excellent time management and able to work independently
  • Able to thrive as part of a team and when working independently
  • Knowledge of regulations and practices related to industry interactions with healthcare professionals
  • Must be well organized, polished, proactive, detail-oriented, mature, and have a professional demeanour
  • Time-management skills and ability to manage multiple projects while balancing field interactions


Education and Training

  • Terminal degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, or equivalent) preferred
    • RPh or Masters-prepared Nurse with rare disease MSL experience considered
  • Hemophilia experience highly desired
    •   Rare disease experience preferred
  • Three years previous MSL experience highly desired
    • Minimum of five years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry considered
