Manufacturing Bioprocess Technician

Summary of Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for completing assigned tasks, which include media preparation, filtration, sterile pipetting, CIP, SIP, and rigorous inventory management while working with an ERP system and an MES system.
  • Work with senior technicians and leads to prioritize tasks and assignments and make recommendations to maximize efficiency and productivity based on shift needs.
  • Support the shift by completing required training in all areas of Stock Solutions within the specified training curriculum.
  • Increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the shift towards meeting department goals.  
  • Responsible for completing assigned tasks, which include sub-aliquoting powders and liquids into smaller containers while using an ERP system and MES system, obtain materials for manufacturing operations, and follow a production schedule.
  • Rigorous inventory management
  • Work with powered pallet trucks and around powered industrial trucks
  • Work with senior technicians and leads to prioritize tasks and assignments and make recommendations to maximize efficiency and productivity based on shift needs.
  • Support the shift by completing required training in all areas of Preweigh within the specified training curriculum.
  • Increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the shift towards meeting department goals.

Summary of Qualifications:
  • A high school degree with some college-level course work (preferably in biological sciences, physical sciences) and at least 1.5 years work experience in GMP biopharmaceutical production.
  • Must possess good problem solving, interpersonal communication, and team skills and have experience and knowledge in a GMP environment.
  • Must be a self-starter with strong focus on quality, details, results and application of cGMP.
  • Must be able to work weekends, off shift, and overtime as required. Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with sterilizing/cleaning equipment (specifically autoclaves, Clean-out-of-Place washers, glassware washers and dryers) and with preparation of portable tanks and Clean-in-Place is also required.
  • Must be able to lift 40lbs and stand for extended periods of time.
  • This position can be for any area in Shared Manufacturing Services (SMS): Equipment Preparation, Stock Solutions, or Preweigh.
  • Support the Shared Services department by working effectively within the group to meet department goals, objectives, and tasks to achieve desired results. 
  • Support the SMS values of Execution, Unity, and Resilience. 
  • This individual will work within a cGMP facility and will be required to wear a plant dedicated uniform (polyester) and a full coverall over the plant uniform. 
  • No makeup or nail polish is allowed when gowned.
  • You must be able to use hand sanitizer (alcohol), hair/beard covers, and be comfortable with working with powered pallet trucks and around powered industrial trucks. 
  • You must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. 
  • You must have a high standard for safety and the highest level of attention to detail.
