Summary of Responsibilities:
  • The candidate will conduct human factors engineering work to support project teams developing drug delivery devices.
  • The right person for this role will have experience in combination product or medical device development, with focus on human factors engineering (HFE).
  • They will have demonstrated the ability to support HFE activities including ethnographic research, requirements definition research, requirements writing, use-related risk analyses, formative usability assessments and/or final summative design validation studies.
  • Experience evaluating instructions-for-use and training procedures is also a plus.
  • The candidate should be capable of writing usability study protocols, performing statistical data analysis and writing study summary reports.
  • They should also be familiar with US/EU guidance' s and standards related to human factors/usability, design controls and risk management.

Summary of Qualifications:
  • Degree in human factors engineering, mechanical engineering, bioengineering or related discipline
  • 3-5 years of Human Factors Engineering and/or combination product experience.
  • Be capable of writing usability study protocols, performing statistical data analysis and writing study summary reports.
  • Be familiar with US/EU guidance' s and standards related to human factors/usability, design controls and risk management.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and an ability to work with multifunctional teams including device development, regulatory, clinical, quality and program management. 
  • Experience evaluating instructions-for-use and training procedures is also a plus.
