Test Equipment Design Engineer

Location: Campbell, CA

Summary

Our client is actively looking for talented test equipment design engineers who are capable of taking the responsibility over a complete engineering program, helping design testers and fixtures that will be applied to the manufacture of automobile electronics, medical equipment, and consumer electronics.

 

Our client excels in the development of innovative test solutions that consolidate product concept, design, electronic development and construction, manufacturing, maintenance services and the implementation of technological complex projects in the test field. 

 

The Role

As a test equipment and design engineer,
  • You should be able to take in charge of a complete engineering project and assist in design testers and fixtures that will be applied to the client’ s electronics products
  • The testers and fixtures will require you to be capable of integrating electromechanical designs to specialized instrumentation, correspondent automation control, and communication software.
  • Ability to verify those designs, by creating validation and verification test plans as well as GR&R and calibration.
  • Experience evaluating SW & HW architectures and designs to identify potential quality, performance and scalability weaknesses or limitations.
  • You should have programming knowledge and ability to learn new technologies.

 

Key Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years hands-on experience in C and C++
  • At least 5 years hands-on experience in electronics development test and verification
  • Understanding of the technologies in client’ s products and customer systems
  • Familiarity with Python, Java, Unix, HTML, and others
  • Good knowledge in both digital and analog electronics
  • Knowledge in control processes, data analysis, and interpretation
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a quickly changing environment
  • Ability to work independently under pressure in a dynamic environment
  • Experience in project management and good people skills

 

  Additional job duties:
  • Creation and validation of tester firmware and SW overlay
  • Define tester hardware and software requirements
  • Review and approve designs from other entities
  • GR&R and station to station variation analysis and reporting
  • Test Coverage/Limit tracking & documentation
  • Train and manage customer’ s manufacturing team, enabling successful hand-off
  • Conduct CLCA - closed loop corrective action whenever needed
  • Parametric data analysis & integrity check
  • Data distribution and Cp & Cpk analysis?
  • Tester stability and reliability analysis
  • Provide regular project status updates
  • Document installation procedure, standard operating procedures, and failure analysis procedures
  • Reporting station bring-up status and results
  • Ability to travel internationally is a must; travel might be up to 15% of the time

Education

BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience/skills required

MS or MBA not required but is a plus

Additional spoken languages are a plus
